You give
You donate by Zelle, card, check, PayPal, or the cash box at the mosque — as Zakat, Sadaqah, or a one-time gift of any size.
“We shape the mind, we nourish the soul.”
Iqra Global Education Project is a non-profit helping students and orphans who can’t access or afford education — supporting both their worldly education and their Islamic education, so no child has to choose between the two.
The Need
Across the communities we serve, there are students — many of them orphans — who are eager to learn but whose families simply cannot pay for school. Their education doesn’t end because they lack ability or motivation. It ends because of money, and the cycle of poverty carries into the next generation.
For many Muslim families, the same is true of Islamic education. Learning the Qur’an and the teachings of Islam shapes a child’s faith and character, yet it is often the hardest to reach in the very places where families want it most.
Iqra Global Education Project exists to change that — helping students and orphans who can’t access or afford education to keep learning, in this world and in their faith.
“Iqra” — read — was the first word of revelation. We believe it should be within every child’s reach.
How Your Donation Works
Every gift follows the same simple path — given by you, delivered by people we trust, and shared back with you.
You donate by Zelle, card, check, PayPal, or the cash box at the mosque — as Zakat, Sadaqah, or a one-time gift of any size.
Trusted people on the ground in each community receive your donation and put it to work where it is needed most.
Students and orphans get back to learning — school fees covered, books in hand, studying for this world and their faith.
You see photos and updates from the work itself — real classrooms and real students — so you know exactly what your giving made possible.
What Your Gift Can Do
There is no small gift in education. Here is what your giving can make possible for a student.
Put the books and everyday school supplies a student needs into their hands, so they can follow every lesson and keep up in class.
Help cover the cost of schooling for a student whose family cannot pay — so a child who wants to learn never has to leave the classroom.
Support a student’s Islamic education — Qur’an reading and memorization, Islamic studies, and the teachers who guide them.
In Sumatra, the school roof needs funding. Your gift helps finish it — so classes can carry on under a safe roof, rain or shine.
However you give, Zakat & Sadaqah are both welcome — and every gift goes to the work.

Our Pillars
Everything we build for our students stands on three pillars — the same three at the heart of the project since the beginning.
Rooted in the Qur’an, the Sunnah, and Islamic character development — the foundation that everything else stands on.
Inquiry, logic, innovation, and academic excellence — students who ask questions, test ideas, and chase answers.
Responsibility, confidence, ethics, and a service mindset — graduates who lead by example and give back to their communities.
The Virtues of Giving
The Qur’an and the Sunnah place knowledge, charity, and caring for orphans among the most beloved of deeds. These are the words that inspire this work.
Read, in the Name of your Lord who created
Qur’an 96:1
Allah will raise those who have believed among you and those who were given knowledge, by degrees
Qur’an 58:11
The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing
Qur’an 2:261
“I and the person who looks after an orphan and provides for him, will be in Paradise like this,” putting his index and middle fingers together
Sahih al-Bukhari 6005
When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: ongoing charity (Sadaqah Jariyah), knowledge from which benefit is derived, or a righteous child who prays for him
Sahih Muslim 1631
